For the scrapbooking challenged

So my sister has been asking me to go scrapbooking with her for years and I've always had some excuse. My excuses have mainly been that I'm too cheap because scrapbooking could cost up to several hundred dollars a page. No really, think about it: expensive paper, cute ribbon, some bling, machines to cut out cute shapes or letters, and of course the hours spent making the perfect page. That being said I decided to finally try it out or at least ease into it by making cards. I have to admit it was really fun and it didn't actually cost me hundreds of dollars. We went to Heartfelt Creations in Sandy and spent the afternoon creating masterpieces for our posterity. My sister is a pro and has all the latest gizmos to make scrapbooking more efficient. Above you will find a sampling of my creations.

Oh, and the best part is she scored me an individual chocolate cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes - mmmm, a little piece of heaven. Thanks, sis, I owe you a treat date!

Every year at Christmas time, Marti makes me a box full of cards like the ones you have on your picture - it is my favorite gift and I ask for it every year. I love that they are handmade by her and I love that I can then give something with my gifts that has a more personal touch than a Hallmark card. I have never scrapbooked myself (though I am the sucker who buys all the apparatus to do so) but I so appreciate the handmade cards. Yours are adorable.

No, I'm serious. I want you to sell them to me. Name your price! I have birthdays coming up and need some good cards. Please don't make me go to Walmart and buy some pre-made, generic card!

Tristan - as a friend I wouldn't want you to suffer like that so e-mail me your address and I'll send you some cards! :>
