Evan's first contest

Evan entered his first contest! There's a baby store (Stork Landing) 3 blocks from our house that holds an annual diaper decorating contest. My mother-in-law kindly helped me with mine - she embroidered some cute fishing emblems on the diaper. Really, the only thing I did was paint over the remaining white on the diaper and add a couple of flies Todd made on the back! My sister brought her baby and my mom which made the event a million times more fun. So here's a brief log of the event:

Here's Evan!

Here's cousin Jaden! Notice how creative his spider costume is - and the cute spiderweb sticker on his cheek!

Waiting for the contest to start we took some pics of our cute contestants. The first picture below is Jaden and my sister. The following pic is me and my one year old who wanted to go play with the kids instead of being held by mommy!

And the contest begins... Evan is lucky number 13!

The judges had to get a closer look. And grandma graciously walked Evan down the runway so mom could take pictures.

Jaden is contestant number 14. He does this really cute army crawl that made his little spider bum swish back and forth giving the appearance of a real spider crawling on the floor!

Now we wait for the results...

And the winners are...

Yay, Evan won the All Star Diaper category and Jaden won the Spookiest!

I would have loved to get a picture of the kids together with the little pumpkin badges but it was already an hour past someone's nap time and I barely got this picture.

My cute little winner got to take a nap at home with dad while we went out to lunch and then shopping! Poor kid, gets paraded in front of a bunch of strangers and doesn't even get to go to lunch - I'll make it up to him by letting him pick a new toy at the store with the $25 gift certificate he won!

You and Janet are both awesome - creative, beautiful, and your boys are as handsome as they come. Great job!

Thanks gals! We think our boys are pretty neat but we're pretty biased (as all mom's should be). I also appreciate the self esteem boosting remarks for me! :>

Annyong! I'm so glad you found me! Add me to your blog list (is it okay if I add you to mine?). Evan is such a cutie! I'm excited to keep in touch!
